We invite anyone interested in the design and use of GenAI for groups to participate in our full-day workshop at CSCW 2025!
While we strongly encourage in-person participation, we will also support limited remote participation for those unable to attend in person.
Overall, we envision the workshop will focus on the design, evaluation, and ethics of integrating generative AI within teams. We hope to discuss aspects related to the following questions:
Which creative and problem-solving processes can GenAI support in groupwork, and how can it play the role of a group participant rather than just a passive tool?
What roles can GenAI play in augmenting group intelligence and enhancing teamwork?
How can we design GenAI systems that support synchronous group interaction during collaborative tasks?
What interaction models best support the varied and evolving roles GenAI can play in group processes?
How do we measure success with respect to the quality of GenAI contributions and evaluate the influence of GenAI on group dynamics, processes, and outcomes?
How do we allow for groups to engage in collaborative boundary regulation and dynamically regulate the level of influence machine generated output has on both the process and the outcomes of the group?
How might GenAI’s roles and interaction models enable new creative practices in groups?
How can we study and guide the evolution of group processes in the presence of GenAI to develop effective integration strategies?
Submissions are due on August 10, 2025 (AoE), and are welcome in various formats:
Position papers (2-4 pages excluding references, ACM single-column format)
Early-stage research ideas (2-4 pages excluding references, ACM single-column format).
Prototype demos (2-4 pages excluding references, ACM single-column format). Demos will require in-person participation and will be incorporated into the workshop agenda to help foster discourse!
Pictorials that express an idea or concept in visually rich ways (2-4 pages excluding references, any format)
All submissions should describe participants' work, interest, ideas, or provocations with respect to the theme of the workshop and the questions above. Participants will be selected based on the uniqueness and quality of the content, relevance of their submissions to the workshop goals, and their potential to bring in new perspectives to this community.
Submissions can be made using this form.
